final farewells

As people are going off to college and we are saying our last goodbyes, most will see each other during christmas and even few will visit one another before then. I could leave any week now and I am just waiting for that one email that gives me the exact date when I will depart the country. I am getting more and more anxious, as well as, more and more nervous because the feeling that I will not be coming home for 11 months is starting to set in. Although it has not fully hit me, those few goodbyes you say to people thinking it may not be a casual 'see you later' but a 'I hope to see you soon!'. I am thankful for every last moment I get to spend with my friends, but thinking 'will I see you before you leave?'   is a tough way to end a conversation. The travel agent is working on applying for my visa. A totally different game thinking you were going to be the first person to leave and may end up being the last one to leave.
